Countertenor

Critical acclaim has followed MARSHALL COID in his multi-faceted career as countertenor, violinist, actor and composer. His "Whitman Cantata" recently won the Dessoff Choirs 75th anniversary prize with an acclaimed premier at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. He has appeared as soloist in all of New York City's major halls, and in festivals and concert series world wide. He was countertenor soloist for the Kennedy Center's tenth anniversary production of Leonard Bernstein's "Mass" on PBS-TV. He was the violin and countertenor soloist for Lincoln Center's production of "Twelfth Night", broadcast nationwide on "Live from Lincoln Center." He has completed his fifth commission from Harpsichord Unlimited, "Tempest Songs", settings of two songs for countertenor solo & ensemble from Shakespeare's "The Tempest". The Queen's Chamber Band will give the world premiere of the work on May 17 at 8 PM, Merkin Concert Hall, at the group's annual New Music concert, marking the end of the current concert season. >The Queen's Chamber Band.
